[31-Jan-2002-14h17 CET] - Ferrari have packed up and gone home after just one and a half days at the Barcelona test. The unexpected trip back to Italy is due to running out of cars to test. In two separate incidents yesterday (Wednesday) both of their cars were badly damaged.

First Michael Schumacher crashed backwards into the barriers at Turn 11 and then 2 hours later Rubens Barrichello hit the barriers side-on at Turn 9. Neither driver was hurt but the cars were too badly damaged to be repaired at the circuit.

Both drivers topped the time sheet despite their accidents. Full times for the day were:
